Zeynep Yalım Uzun completed her high school education at Robert College in Istanbul and went on to study economics and psychology at Agnes Scott College in the United States. Recently, she completed the Senior Executive Program at London Business School on a full scholarship.
Having been at C-level responsibilities over the past 15 years of her 30+ year corporate career, she brings deep global experience in brand, marketing, and business management. She has led teams and managed brands in diverse markets including Latin America, the United States, South and Southeast Asia, Europe, China, and Africa, with expertise in both the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Consumer Durables sectors.
Zeynep had a career spanning more than 25 years at Unilever, holding roles based in Warsaw, Istanbul , and London. She led global and regional operations for various Unilever brands and served as Vice President for Omo (Dirt is Good), Unilever’s second-largest brand at that time, overseeing operations across 80+ countries from the company’s London headquarters.
She also served as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Beko, where she managed a 2,000-person marketing organization spread across a broad geography from China to the U.S. Her responsibilities covered global brand and product management, consumer insight, industrial design, customer service, and small domestic appliances. She oversaw both global and local marketing efforts across 14 brands.
Zeynep currently has her own business as a Brand and Strategy Advisor and serves as a Non Executive Board Director at Doğanlar Furniture Group and as a Board Member and Advisor at Şölen (confectionary business). She is also a Board Member at Fenerbahçe Sports Club.
With over a decade of experience in the international start-up ecosystem, being a judge and mentor for the Boston-based accelerator MassChallenge, Zeynep is currently an active angel investor and start up advisor.
Zeynep has always had a keen interest in futurism and technology and serves as the Vice President of the Futurists Association in Turkiye. Her particular interest area is regeneration and longevity where she actively serves in several global initiatives and communities.
She also sits on the Advisory Board of Women on Boards Adria, which advocates for gender equality in the business world. She is also a first-term mentee of the Women on Board Association Turkiye..
Throughout her career, Zeynep has received numerous accolades. In 2020, she was named one of the "Women to Watch" in Europe by Advertising Age.
